L10 Torrontes 2019

Tasting Notes:  An aromatic varietal indigenous to Argentina, the Torrontes grape produces fresh, aromatic wines with moderate acidity and distinctive floral and apricot aromas – this one is no different! Dry and crisp with lively citrus and white peach flavours. It is best consumed young and fresh so why wait!

Food Pairing: Pair with all light-medium chicken dishes. Salmon Ceviche! Salmon is in many ways the chicken of the fish world and pairs superbly.

Gift Product:Add product to basket and select 'Gift to Different Address' on checkout, fill in the recipient details + gift message and delivery date then place the order!

Read more about the L10 Torrontes 2019 from winemaker Bodegas Bianchi Wine Estate and Lionel Messi below:

The Wine:

Born in Fasano, Italy, in 1887, Don Valentín emigrated with his family to Argentina in 1910. In 1928 he bought a small vineyard and gave birth to Bodegas Valentin Bianchi. As part of the legacy, they seek to keep alive the passion for wine and constantly exploring new horizons. Their guiding principles in winemaking are to respect nature and the best viticultural and oenological practices.

Sporting Connection:

Lionel Messi is arguably the best-known football player in the world and regarded by many as one of the most skillful of all time. In his career, he has won a record five Ballon d’Or awards, four of which he won consecutively, and a record five European Golden Shoes. Former Captain of Argentina and veteran of Barcelona FC, he has very little left to achieve in the world of football.

PLAYING FOR THE SHIRT Apart from the thrill of returning crowds, we have seen a real celebration of rugby skills on show in the first two months of the season. The Premiership, in particular, continued where it left off at the end of last season together with the resurgence of a Leicester team which has embraced its heritage but with a wonderful extra twist of flair, inspired by George […]

The stuff of Sporting Champions When Ireland won at Twickenham in their first match following England’s Rugby World Cup triumph in 2003, we joked that only Ireland could peak the best side in the world after the World Cup had ended! Admittedly the only training that the returning champions had been doing ever since […]

Sporting drama in June – A Rugby Tale of Three Fly Halves and two coaches    What a month of sport around the world, where to start? Bairstow’s heroics at Trent Bridge against the world’s No 1 team, New Zealand, was inspired by the legendary Kiwi Brendan McCullum, a delicious irony and so far […]

La Rochelle live the European dream   La Rochelle is steeped in history, whether back to the days of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine in the 12th century or indeed to the presence of the Huguenots in the 17th. A thriving but small Maritime port was never supposed to carry off the Blue […]

A week for Sporting Champions and questions of leadership   What a week for Champions in two of our major sports – and a prelude for an unprecedented summer of sport after two years of Pandemic-driven abstinence.   As a 55-year-long Man City fan, even I was stunned by that comeback. When you know […]

Broken dreams for champions cup semifinalists The brutality of semifinals is that no one remembers the loser. However, for Saracens, Wasps, Toulouse and Racing 92 there were many mitigating circumstances. In two cases, Leinster and Toulon were simply too good and those matches in Dublin and on the Cote Méditerranée will live in the […]

Simon Halliday Blog - European Rugby Scales The Heights
May 12, 2022

European Rugby Scales The Heights I feel compelled to reflect on last weekend’s European action simply because the quality of what was on offer reached a new record in my view and also there were some conclusions reached I feel are premature. I know I am biased but the adage of the European Cup […]
