Elizabeth Chardonnay 2019: A long, warm summer meant 2017 was a stunning vintage for Chardonnay in Washington and this wine is a testament to it! Upon pouring you’ll be hit with intense aromas of pear and tropical fruits which translates into a rich, buttery flavour high in natural acidity on the palate. Aged for 8 months on it’s lees and only very delicately oaked, less than 800 cases were produced of this exclusive wine so grab it while you can!
Bledsoe Family Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2018: The new Cabernet Sauvignon, formerly known as the “Flying B”, is driven aromatically with red fruits- bright raspberry, fresh strawberries, and is followed by ultra pretty hints of perfumed lavender, sage, and herbs de Provence. The palate has rich, chewy tannins, loads of length, is well balanced, and everything that there is to love about simply pure great Cabernet. Drink now through 2035!
Doubleback Cabernet Sauvignon 2018: An absolutely stunning year and a vintage. One true challenge is creating a wine that will age for decades but will also drink well on release. 2018 accomplished that to perfection. Crème de cassis, black currant, blackberry, wafts of dried cranberry, a hint of wet gravel after a fresh rain and pencil shavings. The richness of this wine is a love affair – chewy tannins and a long, long finish is something that I truly gravitate towards in wines that I enjoy on a personal level and it is on high display here. Everything is in balance. Enjoy this wine now through 2043.

Winemaker
For former NFL Quarterback Drew, owning a winery has been a long-time aspiration that would allow him to combine his passion for fine wine and love of the Walla Walla Valley. In 2008, Drew launched Doubleback, an estate-focused winery with the goal of producing ultra-premium cabernet sauvignon from the Walla Walla Valley. To make this dream a reality, Drew collaborated with his childhood friend Chris Figgins of Figgins Family Wine Estates. Chris consulted on all winemaking and vineyard practices while training current winemaker, Josh McDaniels, who assumed the role in 2015. Since its first release, Doubleback Cabernet Sauvignon has received numerous accolades most recently 99 points from Robert Parker and 96 points from Decanter. The vision for Doubleback remains to be a premium wine experience completely focused on quality. The somewhat patriotically named Elizabeth Chardonnay is one of our top white wine selections.
The Sporting Connection:
Drew Bledsoe is best known as the starting quarterback and face of the New England Patriots from 1993 to 2001. Drew then went on to play for the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys before retiring from the sport in 2007. For his accomplishments in New England, he was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2011. That “success” is something of an understatement and typical of Drew’s humble nature. A four-time Pro Bowler and Superbowl winner in 2001, he played fourteen seasons in the NFL. The name ‘Doubleback’ derives from Drew’s life journey. In his own words: “Doubleback is purely about a small-town kid that grows up in Walla Walla, goes off and has some success and then doubles back and comes back home”.
