Declaration Gin | England,Australia, India | Cricket
Sporting Connection
We chose one of the rainy days at Lords this season to attend an Ashes match where not a ball was bowled. What bad luck given the drama of the series. But it meant that we spent some time with former England Cricket Captain Michael Vaughan and learnt of his plans to launch ‘Declaration Gin.’ This would include botanicals from just about every country against whom he had played cricket. What a great idea!
Declaration Gin Tasting Notes:
With its bright, intriguing and complex nose, Declaration Dry Gin invites you to taste, and when you do you’ll find juniper’s influence with crafted spice from our botanical trio.
English liquorice – reflecting the English history of Pontefract cakes made in Yorkshire since 1637
Australian ginger – unique tasting and full of heritage from the gateway to the southern Great Barrier Reef
Indian Darjeeling Tea – along with cardamom make up he main influences of the gin
With a tonic, a subtle juniper and liquorice sweetness is quickly cut through with clean green cardamom and a ginger note to avail and change on the palate
