Why Chardonnay?
The Chardonnay Grape comes under so many guises in the production of still and sparkling wine, yet can often still be pigeonholed by the casual drinker.
Labelling rules in much of France, for example, require that the place or D.O (designation of origin) takes centre stage on the bottle. Chablis, Macon-Village, Pouilly-Fuisse, Vire-Clesse, Saint-Veran. These are household names for even the most passive consumer, and yet ardent Chardonnay haters / Chablis lovers across the country still raise an eyebrow in learning that they are one and the same.
Perhaps this is just a testament to the versatility of the grape.

Mixed Chardonnay Case
2 x BMW Chardonnay 2018: This rich, Burgundy-style Chardonnay has intense flavours of peaches and melons with overlying herbaceous tones. These are balanced by structured acidity, softening oak and an explosive finish.
2 x Peregrine Chardonnay 2019: Elegant with lovely tension and structure. White peach and preserved lemon combine with roasted hazelnuts, jasmine, and delicate texture.
2 x Welbedacht Chardonnay 2015: This golden-hued wine has aromas of ripe stone fruit, wild honey and tropical flowers which continue on the palate with a refreshing lime twist and then a lingering oak character. It is a structured blend of well-integrated wood and crisp fruit that has a lingering finish.
